Information from the Department of Education regarding Enrolment can be found by visiting FindMySchool and Placement Policy.
When submitting an enrolment form to the school office, please ensure you have the following documentation with you:
· Copy of Birth Certificate or Passport
· Copy of Immunisation Certificate
· Copy of Visa (if applicable)
· Medical Condition details (if applicable) – please note, if you wish us to record that your child has an medical condition, including allergies or intolerances, you will need to provide us with the relevant information and the applicable plans, for example, an ASCIA plan for Allergic Reactions.

Steps to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) for the 2026 school year
2026 Foundation (Prep) enrolments
The Department of Education has released the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for the 2026 school year.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Manchester Primary School.
All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2025 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Manchester Primary School from 22 April 2025.
What you need to do:
- Contact our school on 03 9726 6931 or manchester.ps@education.vic.gov.au to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
- Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available by 22 April 2025). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
- Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025.
- You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.
- Attend our Story Time sessions during Term 3, open for all pre-school children and their parents. These will be held on Wednesday August 6 and 20, and September 10th, all from 2:15-3:15pm.
- Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025, held on Wednesday November 12, 19, 26, and December 3, as well as our whole school transition on Tuesday December 9th.
- Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Thursday 29th January 2026.
Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July 2025 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
To start primary school in 2026, your child will need to turn 5 years old by 30 April 2026. Schooling is compulsory for children who have turned 6 years old.
Your child has a right to enrol at their local school. Your child’s local school is determined on the basis of their permanent residential address. Visit Find my School to locate your child’s local school. The enrolling in a school page can also help you to confirm your child’s address for enrolment.
